Singham Again is an action thriller produced in 2024 and is India’s Hindi cinematic creation. It is directed by Rohit Shetty, making it the 5th entry in his Cop Universe franchise. With Ajay Devgn playing the repeat role of DCP Bajirao Singham, it was released on November 1 2024, on Diwali. He is joined by an ensemble cast of Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff, Kareena Kapoor Khan , Deepika Padukone, Arjun Kapoor and Jackie Shroff. The plot centers on Singham as he battles the most dangerous of all foes, national troublemaker Danger Lanka (Arjun Kapoor) who endangers both Singham's life and national security. The Ramayana is not the only source of inspiration for this film, as part of it is also rooted in mythology through Padukone’s character Shakti Shetty.
The film starts out in Kashmir where DCP Bajirao Singham gets ambushed by Omar Hafiz, who stalks him with the warning that his rest is not a conclusion. Two years down the line in the story, we see Singham with the Shiva squad he is leading attempting to bring down a drugsmuggling cartel runned by the infamous Danger Lanka. While all of this is happening, Avni, Singham’s spouse, gets snatched while doing her Ramayana research.
The story peaks when Singham and his fellow officers Sooryavanshi and Simmba team up to save Avni and take down Danger Lanka.

Singham Again, did not escape harsh criticism when it was released. The action rolled out for some critics, however, the integrated cast and predictable plot that mas lacking depth ensured they would not be receiving praise any time soon. The Guardian, was able to sympathize to some extent, commenting on the attempted modernisation of the franchise but ultimately succumbing to cliché ridden action and unoriginal scheming, describing it as an attempt at inconsistent writing. Bollywood Hungama, however, seemed to encounter no issues praising 4.5/5 remarking that, “It is a massive Diwali Dhamaka."
